Bunga jantan biasanya bertandan pendek. Bunga bewarna kehijauan sampai (kekuningan) keputihan; daun kelopak berjumlah 6 helai, bebas, tangkai bunga 3.5\u221212 mm, gundul sampai memisai; daun mahkota jorong sampai membundar telur sungsang; benang sari 3, kepala sari kuning terang sampai abu-abu. Bunga betina tangkai bunga tidak ada atau sampai 4 mm pada buah, daun kelopak berbentuk segitiga atau jorong; bakal buah beruang 3 (atau 5), panjang kepala putik 2.2\u22122.6 mm. <strong>Buah <\/strong>kapsul, besar dan bercuping-3, dangkal, melingkar, memipih, sedikit tertekan di bagian tengahnya, berwarna merah, kampuh tidak jelas, selalu berambut, mengkilau, dindingnya tipis. <strong>Biji <\/strong>jingga atau merah.<br \/>\n<\/span><b>Ekologi <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Persebaran alami dari Filipina, Indo-cina, Indonesia (Sumatra, Jawa, Kalimantan, Sunda Kecil, Sulawesi, Maluku), Kamboja, Semenanjung Malaysia, dan Thailand. Pada umumnya banyak tumbuh pada hutan sekunder, hutan regenerasi muda atau semak-belukar. Tumbuh pada ekosistem hutan dataran rendah seperti hutan riparian, hutan lahan basah, hutan dipterokarpa campuran atau hutan perbukitan.
