Nama : Ikan Kenyulung kacang/Needle fishes
Deskripsi : Memiliki panjang total mencapai 30 cm. Badan memanjang dan berwarna keperakan. Sirip punggung memiliki 16-18 jari-jari dan sirip dubur memiliki 17-19 jari-jari lunak. Sirip punggung terletak di bagian belakang, dan sejajar dengan sirip dubur.
Habitat : Jenis yang hanya terbatas di air tawar. Hidup di sungai-sungai besar dan sedang. Cenderung mendiami habitat yang berarus lambat dari badan-badan sungai atau rawa-rawa dataran rendah, tetapi sewaktu-waktu kadang dijumpai di daerah hulu. Melakukan ruaya jarak pendek, bergerak dari sungai besar ke anak-anak sungai. Setelah memijah, telur-telurnya yang berukuran diameter 3,5 mm akan menempel pada daun tanaman dengan semacam benang lengket sekitar 20mm. Telur-telur akan memakan waktu 10 hari untuk menetas, pada saat mereka mencapai hampir 12 mm. Pada fase ini mereka akan mencari makanan. Bersifat pelagis sedangkan makanannya berupa ikan-ikan kecil dan serangga.
Sebaran : Tersebar di perairan Asia Tenggara dan Indonesia bagian barat (Sumatera dan Kalimantan).

IUCN Red List Status
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), or in Indonesian, Serikat Internasional Untuk Pelestarian Alam, makes decisions to determine the conservation status of a species or plant. The current categories of the IUCN Red List criteria include extinct (EX), extinct in the wild (EW), critically endangered (CR), endangered (EN), vulnerable (VU), near threatened (NT), least concern (LC), data deficient (DD), and not evaluated (NE).
The CITES List Status
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) , aims to restrict countries from trading protected flora and fauna or those with extremely limited numbers. The CITES status consists of appendices (attachments) numbered I-III. Appendix I is a list of flora and fauna that absolutely cannot be traded because they are critically endangered. Appendix II is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded, but their numbers are limited. Meanwhile, Appendix III is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded because they are abundant in one country but limited in another.
