Nama
: Ipil (Kutai); Kayu Ipil.
Deskripsi : Pohon, berukuran besar, tinggi dapat mencapai 40−50 m, diameter pohon pada hutan primer mencapai 250−100 cm; sering berbanir. Daun majemuk, berpasangan 2 (atau 3), jarang 1 pasang pada ujung dahan atau di bawah perbungaan; panjang tangkai dan rakis 1.5−11.5 cm, gundul. Anak daun menjangat-semi menjangant, jorong-melebar, menbundar telur, membundar telur sungsang, sangat jarang membundar; tangkai daun panjangnya 2−6 mm; pangkal daun meruncing, membaji, menumpul, sering asimetri; ujung daun menumpul, membundar, kadang-kadang melancip pendek, sangat jarang sedikit bertakik. Perbungaan tandan, mencapai panjang 10−17 cm, berambut balig halus, menggundul, atau gundul sebagian atau seluruhnya, tangkai bunga 7−12 mm. Dasar bunga panjangnya hampir sama dengan cuping kelopak. Kelopak bercuping menjorong. Daun mahkota: lembaran seperti sayap, bagian seperti cakar panjangnya 5 mm. Benang sari fertil: panjang tangkai sari 3 cm, panjang kepala sari 2 mm; benang sari steril panjangnya 10 mm. Bakal buah 7.5 mm, putik 4 cm. Buah polong. Biji tebal, 2−3.5 × 0.8 cm.
Ekologi : Persebaran dari Tanzania (Zanzibar) sampai wilayah Pasifik bagian Barat, termasuk kawasan Malesia dan Indo-Cina. Pada umumnya tumbuh di hutan primer dan hutan sekunder. Hutan dataran rendah tetepi pantan, hutan riparian, hutan ekosistem muara atau hutan ekosistem mangrove asosiasi. Tumbuh pada habitat tanah asam sampai tanah pasiran.
Kegunaan : Kayu dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber bahan konstruksi, perabotan dan lainnya. Referensi: Ding Hou et al., 1996; Whitmore, 1983; Muklis et al., 2018.

IUCN Red List Status
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), or in Indonesian, Serikat Internasional Untuk Pelestarian Alam, makes decisions to determine the conservation status of a species or plant. The current categories of the IUCN Red List criteria include extinct (EX), extinct in the wild (EW), critically endangered (CR), endangered (EN), vulnerable (VU), near threatened (NT), least concern (LC), data deficient (DD), and not evaluated (NE).
The CITES List Status
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) , aims to restrict countries from trading protected flora and fauna or those with extremely limited numbers. The CITES status consists of appendices (attachments) numbered I-III. Appendix I is a list of flora and fauna that absolutely cannot be traded because they are critically endangered. Appendix II is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded, but their numbers are limited. Meanwhile, Appendix III is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded because they are abundant in one country but limited in another.
