: Ara.
Deskripsi : Pohon, tinggi mencapai 13 m. Pada ranting muda biasanya buku-buku batang terlihat jelas; bergetah putih kekuningan. Daun penumpu ada, lekas luruh. Daun tunggal, berseling-spiral, semi-berhadapan; mengertas sampai semi-menjangat; tangkai daun 6−8 cm; helaian melonjong-jorong, semi membundar telur terbalik; kurang lebih asimetrik; pangkal daun menjatung sampai semi-menjantung, menjantung sampai membundar; ujung daun meruncing; tepi daun beringgitan-bergigi sampai bergigi kecil-kecil; permukaan daun atas daun berambut balig halus padat atau jarang sampai gundul, halus, atau berkeropeng, permukaan bawah daun berambut balig halus keputihan, padat atau jarang; pertulangan lateral menyirip 4−9 pasang, beberapa di antaranya bercabang atau beralur jauh dari tepinya; kelenjar lilin kecil. Perbungaan periuk, muncul di batang utama atau dahan; tangkai perbungaan 1−3 cm; daun gagang 3, terpusar; dasar bunga mengavokad sampai bulat telur sungsang sampai bulat pipih, permukaan buah berlentisel yang menonjol, berambut balig halus keputihan jarang atau semi-gundul, terdapat ostiol di bagian atas buah, hijau gelap sampai kekuningan sampai jingga saat masak.
Ekologi : Persebaran alami dari wilayah Kalimantan dan Filipina. Pada umumnya tumbuh pada ekosistem hutan dataran rendah seperti hutan primer dan hutan sekunder. Tumbuh pada ekosistem hutan riparian atau hutan yang terganggu. Referensi: Berg & Corner, 2005.

IUCN Red List Status
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), or in Indonesian, Serikat Internasional Untuk Pelestarian Alam, makes decisions to determine the conservation status of a species or plant. The current categories of the IUCN Red List criteria include extinct (EX), extinct in the wild (EW), critically endangered (CR), endangered (EN), vulnerable (VU), near threatened (NT), least concern (LC), data deficient (DD), and not evaluated (NE).
The CITES List Status
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) , aims to restrict countries from trading protected flora and fauna or those with extremely limited numbers. The CITES status consists of appendices (attachments) numbered I-III. Appendix I is a list of flora and fauna that absolutely cannot be traded because they are critically endangered. Appendix II is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded, but their numbers are limited. Meanwhile, Appendix III is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded because they are abundant in one country but limited in another.
