Nama
: Buah ular-kecil.
Deskripsi : Liana, berkayu. Percabangan batang menggalah, berambut balig jarang; sulur bercabang 3−5. Daun majemuk-beranak daun 3; tangkai daun 2.5−6 cm; anak tangkai daun tengah 0.5−2.5 cm, anak tangkai daun lateral 4−8 mm, meroma; helai anak daun membundar telur, sisi atas meroma, sisi bawah berambut padat; pertulangan lateral 7 atau 8 pasang; pangkal anak daun membundar, ujung anak daun meruncing atau menumpul; anak daun lateral pangkalnya asimetrik dan semi-membundar; tepi anak daun bergigi tumpul, berjumlah 8−11 di setiap sisi. Perbunngaan malai berbatas, majemuk menggarpu, aksiler, tangkai perbungaan 2−7.5 cm, meroma. Bunga kecil, tangkai bunga pendek, 1−3 mm, berbulu balig. Kuncup bulat telur, ujungnya membulat; kelopak bunga dangkal dan berbentuk piring, meroma, mengutuh atau berombak; daun mahkota jorong, 1.3−1.8 mm, berambut berpapil; kepala sari bulat telur; bakal buah bagian basal menggala sampai ke dasar bunga; putik lampai. Buah bulat, berbiji 2 atau 3, hijau terang sampai ungu gelap saat matang. Biji bersegi tiga, ujung biji membundar.
Ekologi : Persebaran alami dari wilayah Asia Tropis dan Subtropis sampai wilayah Pasifika bagian Barat, termasuk kawasan Malesia. Pada umumnya tumbuh pada areal yang terbuak seperti tepi hutan yang tidak berkanopi rapat. Pada hutan regenerasi muda dan belukar, atau pada tepi jalan. Catatan: Jenis ini hampir mirip dengan Cayratia maritima B. R. Jackes, sehingga perlu kehati-hatian dalam identifikasi cepat di lapangan. Perbedaan pada midrib terdapat rambut-rambut berbentuk kail (Jackes, 1987). Referensi: Chen et al., 2007.

IUCN Red List Status
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), or in Indonesian, Serikat Internasional Untuk Pelestarian Alam, makes decisions to determine the conservation status of a species or plant. The current categories of the IUCN Red List criteria include extinct (EX), extinct in the wild (EW), critically endangered (CR), endangered (EN), vulnerable (VU), near threatened (NT), least concern (LC), data deficient (DD), and not evaluated (NE).
The CITES List Status
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) , aims to restrict countries from trading protected flora and fauna or those with extremely limited numbers. The CITES status consists of appendices (attachments) numbered I-III. Appendix I is a list of flora and fauna that absolutely cannot be traded because they are critically endangered. Appendix II is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded, but their numbers are limited. Meanwhile, Appendix III is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded because they are abundant in one country but limited in another.
