Nama
: Rasak; Resak.
Deskripsi : Pohon, berukuran sedang, tinggi berkisar 30-40 m, diameter batang mencapai 50−70 cm, kadang berbanir. Batang beresin (damar); pepagan luar kecoklatan, tipis; batang umumnya tegak, kulit batang tidak berlekah; pepagan dalam kuning terang-coklat kekuningan; sangat menyerabut, berwarna putih di dekat kambium; gubal putih dan halus. Daun penumpu ada. Daun tunggal, berseling, gundul, menjangat; jorong-lonjong atau jorong menyempit. Perbungaan malai. Bunga putih sampai putih kekuningan atau putih kemerahan; mahkota krem. Buah geluk, bulat telur, besar, 4−12 × 8 cm, hijau-coklat, terlihat seperti tidak bersayap, biji 1. Biji bulat telur.
Ekologi : Persebaran alami dari wilayah Semanjung Malaysia, Kalimantan, Filipina, Sulawesi, Maluku, dan Papua Nugini. Di Kalimantan Timur: lahan basah Mesangat, lahan basah Suwi dan lainnya. Pada umumnya tumbuh pada hutan tepi sungai atau hutan riparian, hutan dipterokarpa campuran, dan hutan lahan basah (rawa atau rawa gambut). Tumbuh di ekosistem dataran rendah, kadang pada perbukitan dan punggung bukit di tanah pasiran sampai tanah batuan kapur.
Kegunaan : Kayu dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan bangunan. Daun berpotensi sebagai sumber pakan satwa liar seperti bekantan. Referensi: Kessler & Sidiyasa, 1994; Muklis et al., 2018.

IUCN Red List Status
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), or in Indonesian, Serikat Internasional Untuk Pelestarian Alam, makes decisions to determine the conservation status of a species or plant. The current categories of the IUCN Red List criteria include extinct (EX), extinct in the wild (EW), critically endangered (CR), endangered (EN), vulnerable (VU), near threatened (NT), least concern (LC), data deficient (DD), and not evaluated (NE).
The CITES List Status
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) , aims to restrict countries from trading protected flora and fauna or those with extremely limited numbers. The CITES status consists of appendices (attachments) numbered I-III. Appendix I is a list of flora and fauna that absolutely cannot be traded because they are critically endangered. Appendix II is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded, but their numbers are limited. Meanwhile, Appendix III is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded because they are abundant in one country but limited in another.
