Nama : Musang Linsang/Banded Linsang
Deskripsi : Tubuh berwarna keputihan sampai keemasan atau bungalan yang ditaburi dengan pola-pola bintik coklat tua. Cakar layaknya seperti kucing. Badan ramping kepala meruncing dengan kaki yang pendek. Pada tengkuk terdapat garis yang membujur. Panjang badan 350-411 mm (35 cm – 41,1 cm), panjang ekor 295-362 mm (29,5 cm – 36,2 cm), panjang telapak kaki 54-66 mm (5,4 cm – 6,6 cm) dan bobot badan 598-798 gr.
Habitat : Ia hidup di hutan tropis dan menghabiskan sebagian besar waktunya di pepohonan. Spesies ini merupakan karnivora, makanannya meliputi mamalia kecil, burung, reptilia dan arthropoda. Bersifat nokturnal, arboreal dan teresterial. Jumlah anak yang dilahirkan 2-3 ekor. Anak yang dilahirkan dapat mencapai bobot 40 gr. Tidur pada siang hari dalam sarang yang dibuat di dalam sebuah lubang di bawah tanah atau di dalam pohon. Terdapat di hutan yang tinggi dan hutan sekunder, perkebunan dan kebun-kebun. Tercatat mampu hidup hingga ketinggian 1.800 m dpl.
Sebaran : Tersebar di kawasan Malaysia Barat, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Jawa Barat, dan Thailand

IUCN Red List Status
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), or in Indonesian, Serikat Internasional Untuk Pelestarian Alam, makes decisions to determine the conservation status of a species or plant. The current categories of the IUCN Red List criteria include extinct (EX), extinct in the wild (EW), critically endangered (CR), endangered (EN), vulnerable (VU), near threatened (NT), least concern (LC), data deficient (DD), and not evaluated (NE).
The CITES List Status
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) , aims to restrict countries from trading protected flora and fauna or those with extremely limited numbers. The CITES status consists of appendices (attachments) numbered I-III. Appendix I is a list of flora and fauna that absolutely cannot be traded because they are critically endangered. Appendix II is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded, but their numbers are limited. Meanwhile, Appendix III is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded because they are abundant in one country but limited in another.
