Nama : Ikan Sepat Siam/Snakeskin Gourami
Deskripsi : Memiliki panjang total sekitar 25 cm. Badan penuh dengan belang berwar- na gelap, tetapi kadang berubah, tergantung kondisi perairan. Mulutnya kecil. Sirip punggung memiliki VII-VIII jari-jari keras dan 10-11 jari-jari lunak. Sirip dubur memiliki IX-XII jari-jari keras dan 912 jari-jari lunak. Jari pertama pada sirip perut sangat panjang, menjangkau bagian sirip ekor. Terdapat garis warna hitam tidak beraturan memanjang dari mata sampai ke tengah pangkal sirip ekor.
Habitat : Biasanya memijah pada saat musim hujan, di rawa-rawa atau perairan tergenang lainnya. Membangun sarang berbusa di permukaan, di tepi-tepi tumbuhan air. Jantan dan betina memelihara telur dan anak-anaknya secara bersama, sampai anakan bisa berenang dengan baik. Merupakan ikan omnivor, walaupun hampir sebagian besar makanannya adalah tumbuhan, alga dan fitoplankton; juga memakan invertebrata akuatik. Bersifat bentopelagis dan potamodromus.
Sebaran : Spesies ini berasal dari Thailand atau perairan Asia Tenggara

IUCN Red List Status
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), or in Indonesian, Serikat Internasional Untuk Pelestarian Alam, makes decisions to determine the conservation status of a species or plant. The current categories of the IUCN Red List criteria include extinct (EX), extinct in the wild (EW), critically endangered (CR), endangered (EN), vulnerable (VU), near threatened (NT), least concern (LC), data deficient (DD), and not evaluated (NE).
The CITES List Status
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) , aims to restrict countries from trading protected flora and fauna or those with extremely limited numbers. The CITES status consists of appendices (attachments) numbered I-III. Appendix I is a list of flora and fauna that absolutely cannot be traded because they are critically endangered. Appendix II is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded, but their numbers are limited. Meanwhile, Appendix III is a list of flora and fauna that can be traded because they are abundant in one country but limited in another.
